  1. This post came across in my news-server. I was fortunate to have been a guest at the Aveda Spa in Osceola, WI back in early 90’s. I have been to so many Spas from Santa Fe to SanMelo in France, all very different, most very beautiful places/properties. Horst’s spa was in a different realm entirely. It was truly an enchanting experience. That beautiful forest; . . ., only place it competes with is Volcano Park, on Big Island in HI. Both of these forests were 100% human-friendly. No nasty reptiles, bears or other hostile beasts. Both had user-friendly trails for older or disabled humans who normally would not be able to navigate a walk in the forest. I can still remember the beautiful site of these reindeer, the clearings in the woods, where small herbal or flower gardens were planted. The therapists at the spa were excellent, but for me, the forest was the healer. I was there at springtime, the weather was perfect for hiking. Truly a wonderful experience. The over-used word “healing” does not do that spa and it’s magnificent property justice. I was so sorry to learn, several years later, that the spa had been closed. I heard rumours of rehab facility or other varients of same being in development, but I moved far away from WI. Now, in 2012, many years later & older, I can treasure this memory, knowing that it really was a very magickal place that was far removed from it’s pretenders.

The staff at Horst’s spa were totally unaffected people, so spontaneous, fun-loving young people. Sadly, the level of pretense & righteousness we see in today’s spa-world, has increased. For many years, I lived with a badly mis-diagnosed case of a rare form of RA, and the only relief I ever got was through some pretty primitive spa treatments!:), I was told I had fibromyalgia/CFS, and there was no treatment for it what so ever back then. There is not much added advantage in having a legit medical dx; except that I do qualify for “managed pain” aka “God’s medicine”. It’s expensive right now, but certainly more economical than today’s “spa tx,”. For many years, I became a spa junkie, seeking out the most exotic places & tx’s, but nothing came remotely close to Aveda Spa at Osceola. May the Goddess bless you, Horst Rechelbacher.

  2. Are there any spa’s in Osceola now? Or anywhere near the Twin Cities that can help with back pain, bad eating habits, stress and etc? I live in Center City, MN and was hoping to find a place that I could get some help from. Thank you Sharon
