I first shared this recipe 11 years ago on this humble little blog and decided to whip it up again for the viewers of Minnesota Live this week. It’s a really great example of how you feel the satisfaction of making something yourself, feel control over the ingredients and enjoy the creative process of adjusting the flavors to your liking.
Homemade Pecan Butter
Gather this:

- 1 tsp – 1 tbsp maple syrup (or honey)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
Do this:
Put all ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor. Process until smooth. Store in a labeled jar in the refrigerator.

How long can you store it? Thank you!
Several weeks in the fridge!
Thank you!!
I used almonds and it turned out GREAT! Just added more coconut oil to make it really creamy!
Yes! You can make all kinds of nut butter! I just did another batch yesterday. It’s so fun!
